ABOUT ROY

I was introduced at the age of 11 to FL Studio 10 by friends. From there I began messing with FL Studio and it's plugins, samples and whatnot to create little loops. In 2012 I decided to upload those loops onto Newgrounds where Chris Wallace quickly found some of my early work and used one of my loops in his iOS of #strys. For the next year I began making loops and songs at a fast rate, resulting in over 100+ songs (of abysmal quality) to be uploaded. For some reason the 18+ sections of Newgrounds took a specific liking to these loops.

After this I quickly entered the Electronic Dance Music scene with my first official "label"  releases being on JustAnotherVisual, followed shortly by Modulate Records releases as well as a release on Funky Panda's sub-label, "Funky Way". In 2015 I became a part of the Umbra Collective and part of the management (being the lead manager for almost 2 years and it's biggest growth period.)

I've since been part of 3 duo's that had varying degrees of success. With Everflux we setup "The Infamy" which disbanded in early 2014. In 2015 I became a duo with AK+Q (then Stratales) to form Meakii which was praised for being an unique sound, and a breath of fresh air.  In 2018 Meakii was put on hiatus in favor of a new project.

In mid-2018 Mewnlight Rose and myself formed the duo of "Grim Fables", the self-described "result of what happens when two dorks who like RPG games join forces and make EDM music blended with VGM music". We have since released on the Tasty Network and have received high praise, seeing our work be promoted by TrapNation and other big channels alike.

BULLET POINTS

Previous releases/projects I am proud of.

Grim Fables [July 2018]

MY FIRST "BIG" RELEASE, "OASIS"

As part of Grim Fables, we'd finally produced our first song titled "Oasis", and determined our style to be "dorks who would try to combine Electronic Dance Music in a Dungeons & Dragons scenario". And it worked, to a big reception. This was also when I began to take my commission work 'seriously', openly enlisting my services instead of maintaining it privately.

Fabled Ways [March 2019]

GIVE AN IMP A CHANCE OST

I had made a post on the Lemmasoft forums about a month prior and had received a few offers that did not interest me. However, Paper Cat Studios approached me and seemed more determined to work on and finish their game. So I offered my services and created 5 songs, and was quickly approached by them again to provide a bonus 2 tracks. The game has not seen release due to complications with Steam. It's status is unknown, but the OST is listenable on my SoundCloud.

Fabled Ways [June 20th 2019]

FACTFILE OST

I was approached by the (then) host of FactFile, Matt Harris, to produce the OST for the YouTube channel. I had never produced an OST specifically for a channel before, so this was a first. But an enjoyable first! It was my style, albeit a little toned down. Very enjoyable.

Fabled Ways [November 2019]

HATE IS A 4 LETTER WORD

I was approached by Katharsis Art to provide the OST for their visual novel, HATE IS A 4 LETTER WORD. On the outset, it was sort of an odd looking project. But that was what drew me to it. The OST was heavily synthwave-inspired and this was exactly what I needed to make a whole OST in almost no time flat.
